Accepted File Types
Usable Art
Send us your artwork and we will start proofing! The best types of art to get the process moving as quickly as possible are:
- Adobe Illustrator .ai
- Vector PDF .pdf
- Layered EPS .eps
These types of files allow the greatest flexibility for sizing graphics to any size without loss of quality.
Acceptable for Full Color/CMYK
- High Resolution Images .jpg, .png, .gif, .bmp, .tif (300 dpi at print size)
- Adobe Photoshop .psd (300 dpi at print size)
Fonts & Placed Art
If your files include text, please convert it to outlines or paths. Any linked art or graphics placed within a layout application should have their links embedded.
Proofing
We will send you a proof of your artwork before printing. If color is critical, we request that you supply exact PMS colors (Pantone Matching System). Please note that we do not guarantee an exact PMS color match on products printed through a CMYK process, but we take care to produce the closest PMS equivalents possible.
Unaccepted File Types
Unusable Art
You’ll hear us refer to this as “bad art” or describe it as low-resolution, pixelated, or blurry. We need artwork that is either vector, or, if raster, 300 dpi at the inset size. Some materials such as metal, PVC, or silicone, or items produced using the silk-screen method require vector art.
Web & Small Images
Images from websites are compressed and not suitable for printing. Do not increase the resolution (dpi) of a small photo in an editing program; this results in a blurry image.
We DO NOT print from:
- Microsoft Publisher .pub
- Microsoft Word .doc, .txt
- Microsoft PowerPoint .ppt, .pps
- Microsoft Excel .xls, .xlt, .xml
We understand there are instances when sending poor art is better than sending nothing. If this is the case, you may send the art you have but Art Charges of $40 per 1/2 hour will be added to your order. Please call or email us for cost estimates or questions.
